The Cross We Carry

Maybe we could do with an expansion of our framework for cross-carrying.

Thank you all for being paid subscribers to my (fairly new) Substack! 

At first I wasn’t sure what to do about the fact that Substack offers a paid subscriber option. I felt awkward about it for multiple reasons, but I’ve since been reminded that perhaps my burden and gift to write could be honored in this way. (I think an essay about my ambivalent feelings about money and ministry—especially when mixed—is probably warranted sometime soon.)

Anyway, I hope to offer to you all some less-polished but hopefully helpful reflections here and there. Things I’m chewing on. Things I haven’t wrapped my mind around yet, but which find the vine of my thoughts growing around them.

I’d love for these little essays to be conversations between the few of us. Perhaps there’s something I’m missing as I process these thoughts. Maybe you can share with me your feedback when you’re up for it. I hope you feel honored in this manner and that you feel comfortable enough to pull up a chair any time to continue conversations around this content.
